Introducing the Candidates for 5781-5782 NFTY-GER Regional Board

Listed below are the candidates for the upcoming NFTY-GER Regional Board Elections. If you aren't registered already, sign up today and join us on Sunday, March 14 to join us virtually and help decide the future direction for our region!

Candidates for President

Elianna Perlman is a junior from South Orange, New Jersey. She has served NFTY-GER as a Program Coordinator and Programming Vice President and is actively engaged in the Jewish community. She spent four summers at URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy and will be returning this summer as a Machon. She is also the Senior Patrol leader of her Scouts BSA troop. Elianna enjoys reading, embroidery, listening to music, and safely spending time with her friends.

Lindsay Jacobs is a junior from Manalapan, NJ and is thrilled to be announcing her candidacy for President! Lindsay is currently the Recruitment Vice President, and also served as 678 chair on cabinet, NFTY Representative, and Membership Communications President on the YOSHE board. When not talking about NFTY, Lindsay can be found talking about her summers spent at URJ Camp Harlam, baking, watching Grey’s Anatomy, or playing with her dogs.

Candidates for Programming Vice President

Jacob Levin is a sophomore from Montvale, NJ. For the past two years, Jacob has worked as a Program Coordinator on NFTY-GER’s Regional Cabinet. Last year, he acted as ReTRo Vice President, and this year he has been delighted to serve BarTY as a leading member of their Ritual and Programming Committee. In his spare time, Jacob enjoys participating in his school theatre program, playing guitar, and reading.

Aiden D’Antonio is a junior from Middletown, New Jersey. He is delighted to announce his candidacy for Programming Vice President! He has spent the last two years on his TYG board, and as a Programming Coordinator on the NFTY-GER Cabinet. He is an Eagle Scout, as well as the Senior Patrol Leader of his troop. When not on the soccer field or playing volleyball, he can be found hanging with friends and living it up!

Candidates for Social Action Vice President

Jadyn Turner is a junior at Nyack High School. She is pleased to announce her candidacy for NFTY-GER Social Action Vice President. For The past two years, Jadyn has had the pleasure of serving as ReTRo President. Jadyn has also had the privilege of serving as Chapter Lead for Students Demand Action Rockland and President for Make Our Schools Safe Nyack Dream Team. In her free time, Jadyn enjoys going on long runs and reading.

Candidates for Religious and Cultural Vice President

Jacob Shinder is a Senior from Closter, New Jersey. He has served as the Programming Vice President for two years on his TYG Board and then as GER’s RCVP. Jacob is a proud member of his music department and loves to sing tunes and play trumpet, guitar, and more! In his free time, Jacob watches action/comedy movies, walks his dog Ginger, rides his bike, and helps his family with technology issues.

Candidates for Membership Vice President

Daisy Nashel is a sophomore from Millburn, New Jersey and is proud to announce her candidacy for Membership Vice President. She serves as a Family Chair on NFTY-GER cabinet. This is her way of not only making everyone feel welcome, but attempting to create a family-esque experience. When she’s not overly ecstatic while leading mixers, Daisy adores dancing on her varsity cheer team and dance company, researching her friend’s birth charts, or writing fiction stories.

Candidates for Recruitment Vice President

Rachel Smet is a junior from Marlboro, New Jersey and is so excited to be running for Recruitment VP. She is currently the Social Action and the co-Social Media VPs on her TYG, ToSTY. Rachel served as the High School Engagement Chair underneath the RVP. She has lived in four different states and has moved five times! Rachel enjoys hiking, reading, and watching movies. You can always catch her talking about the latest horror movies!

Benjamin Sammut
is a junior from Holmdel, New Jersey and is ecstatic to announce his candidacy for Recruitment Vice President of NFTY-GER! Benjamin currently serves as the 678 chair on cabinet and as a council member for his TYG, ToSTY. When not at NFTY events or talking about them, Benjamin loves spending his free time with his dogs, at his school’s television studio, binge watching all of Netflix, or learning different guitar songs.

Candidates for Financial Vice President

Nathan Perlman is a junior from South Orange, NJ and is delighted to declare his candidacy for Financial Vice President. Nathan has served three years on his TYG board, including one year as Financial Vice President. He has served NFTY-GER as Fundraising Chair, Shuk Manager, and this past year as Financial Vice President. Nathan is also involved in Scouts;
he has served as his troop’s Senior Patrol Leader and is currently the Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.
